INSOBRIETY

A first-offcudiug female for drunkenness Avas convicted and discharged.

Heury James Stinsou, avlio pleaded guilty to beiug drunk while iv charge of a horse, in Church-street. Avas fined 20s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisoumeut. For beiug drunk and committing a grossly indecent act iv Queen-street, Edward Francis Avas fined ss, iv default tweuty-fonr hours' imprisonment, on the first charge, aud avus sentenced to seven days' imprisonment, Avith hard labour, ou the secoud.

George Ashdowu pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct in Queen-street, by forcibly taking hold of auother persou, aud was lived 10s. Michael Moouey was charged with drunkenness, aud pleaded guilty.

Sergeant Miller said the accused had several couvictious for drukuenness agaiutst him, and ho asked that he be adjudged au habitual drunkard. Accused was a most inoffensive mau in every way, but he had frequeut fits of drnukeuues..
