At a meeting of the Carterton jfcrough Oouucil ou Tuesday night, amounting to £1193, including £704 10s iv connection with the street improvement work, were passed for payment. The geueral accouut was reported in debit £465 17s 7d. The report of the gas committee showed that 2(55,000 feet of gas had been manufactured duriug the mouth, of which 20,614 feet had been consumed by the street lamps, aud 5500 feet by the town clock.
