The vital statistics for Carterton for December are -.—Births, 12; marriages, 2; deaths, 1; and for the year: Births, 113; marriages, 27; and deaths, 30. In Grey town during December there were births, 5; marriages, 3; deaths, nil. For the quarter, births totalled 14, deaths 3, , marriages 4. At Featherston during December there were 3 births, one death and no marriages, while for the quarter the figures are births 7, deaths 1, marriages 2. The death occurred at Carterton, ou Friday, of Leslie William, infant son of Mr and Mrs L. H. Smart. Six hundred and ninety-four passengers travelled from Greytown during the recent holiday season. Mr R. Aickin, of the railway staff, Featherston, left on Tuesday on his annual holiday. Mr G. Reid is relieving officer.
