WELLINGTON, Last Night

The Wellington Provincial Tennis Tournament was continued at Day's Bay to-day. The weather was again perfect, aud good progress was made with the various matches, but the tournament is not yet over. To-mor-row afternoon the finals will be played of the men's aud ladies' championship singles, ladies' championship doubles aud combined championship doubles. The men's champion doubles was won by Aitken aud Gore, who beat Hunter and Howe 6—2, 6 —4. The following won their games in the uncompleted championships events :— Ladies Doubles (semi-final). —Mrs Hickson and Miss E. Williams. Combined Doubles.—Miss Marchant aud H. M. Gore, Mrs Hickson and R. Swanston. The men's handicap doubles was won by Keeling and Hawkins (Rec. 15), who beat Goss and Olliver (scr) 70—61. In the final of the men's handicap singles (first grade) H. V. Howe (rec. 13) beat L. W. Hawkins (rec. 10) 60—51. The ladies handicap siugles was won by Miss F. Scott (rec. 16), who defeated Miss K. Mclntosh (rec. 23) 50 —46. Miss Penny and Mrs Hawkins (rec. 16) beat Miss Marchant and Miss Hickson (scr) in the final of the ladies' handicap doubles 50—28.
