THE SMART SET.
The little girl had run the gauntlet of three nurses, and had crept out of the nursery to take a peep at the company who had assembled iv the draw-ing-room. She concealed herself behind a great palm in the conservatory, where she was found by ono of the guests. "Hello! little ono," he said, "are you enjoying yourself?" "Yes, thank you," she replied. "Do you see that lady standing over there? That's my mother. Don't you think she's nice?" "Indeed, she is. Won't you introduce me?" "Goodness gracious, no!" sho exclaimed. I can't do that. I havou't been introduced to her myself yet."
