LANSDOWNE NOTES.

Fivo thousand sheep woro brought through from Hastings during the past wook. Throe thousand odd were left at Eketahuna, tho remainder arriving at Lansdowue on Mouday. The sheep woro bought by Mr Reside for various people iv this district, and aro in fairly good condition after their long journey. Thirfcv thousand bricks aro being turuod out weekly at tho Lansdowne brick kiln, and* iv a short timo tho output will be fifty thousand per week.
There will bo quito au exodus of Lausdowno residents about next Friday. About half a dozen families aro leaving for tho 'Xmas holidays. Some are going North, others to tho East Ooast, aud to the Empire City watering places. The scarcity of wator is being seriously felt here; some of the residents who have to depoud upon raiu water, having to buy wator for domestic purposes. Those who havo good wells ou their premises are fortunate. The thermometer was 80 in the shade at 10..0 a.m. on Tuesday.
