PERSONAL MATTERS.
Mr Keir Hardie is a passenger to New Zealand by the Manuka from Sydney. (Cable message received 10.6 a.m.)
Advice has been received that Mr F. G. H. Moore, son of Mr H. G. Moore, of Dunedin, has been appointed a member of the professional staff of the Royal Academy of Music, London.
Mr Thos. Mackenzie, M.P., who has occupied the position of au Independent member since the election for Waihemo, announces that in future he will support the Ward Administration. —Association.
Mr T. Hutchison, S.M., who has just returned to New Plymouth from England, has received notice of transfer to Oamaru. Mr Fitzherbert, S.M., who has relieved Mr Hutchison at New Plymouth, remains permanently. The friends of Mrs Stone-Wigg, of Te Rangitumau, will be pleased to hear that she is now convalescent, and has left the private hospital. She is staying in Wellington still, but hopes to return home after New Year.
The death is recorded at Napier of Mr Johu Vautier, who had been prominently connected with Hawke's Bay for the past fifty years. He took an active interest in local politics, particularly in Harbour Board affairs. He was seventy-four years of age.— Association.
A cable from Paris states that James Clunie Wilkin, manager of the Lytteltou Times, died there yesterday. He underwent an operation on December 6th. Mr Wilkin was on a holiday visit to the Old Country, and was expected back in January.—Association.
