Consumers Outside the Borough

Crs E. Feist (chairman), F. W. Temple, and J. C. Ewington met last evening, for the purpose of going into the question of readjusting the charges for water supplied to consumers outside of the Borough, and for extraordinary supply. The question was fully considered, and on the motion of Cr Ewington, it was decided: " That with a view to making fresh arrangements, three months' notice of the discontinuance of the supply of water to persons outside the Borough, be given, the notice to terminate on March 31st, 1907." It was decided to recommend the following as the new arrange raent: -To charge by meter only; that the price for the supply should be 4d per thousand gallons; that the meters to measure the supply be provided by the Council, and the owners charged a meter rental of Is per month; that the cost of fixing the meters with box, etc., be paid by the owners, the fixing to be done by the Borough Engineer. The Engineer was instructed to purchase two dozen meters.

The question of charges for extraordinary supply was deferred, pending information being received as to charges in other towns.
