Wellington Races.

The weather was wet, and the attendance was not up to the average. The course was very heavy. The double event totalisator on the Wellington Handicap and Flying Handicap returned a dividend of £65 7s to 14 investors. The day's totalisator receipts amounted to £9992, as against £8578 on the corresponding day last year.
Wellington Handicap.—St. Joe, 1; Lyrist, 2; Signalman, 3. Also started—Achilles, Mahutonga, Black Reynard, Auratus,Shrapnell Shell, Flamen, Blythemaid, Hukaaka. Won by a head, a neck separating second and third. Time, 2min 17 3-53ec. Divs., £G lis and £2 Bs.
Flying Handicap.—Prelude, 1; Sir Tristram, 2; St. Claimer, 3. Time, lmin 20 2-ssec. Div., £3 10s.
Rimutaka Hack Handicap.—Matakokiri, 1; Aorangi, 2 ; Gazeley, 3. Divs., £6 3s ancl £2 ss.
Wellesley Stakes.—Kirriemuir, 1; Ivanoff, 2; Zimmerman, 3. Time, 52 4-ssec. Divs., £4 and £1.
AVainui Handicap—Ghoorka, 1; Regulation, 2 ; Kudu, 3. Divs., £3 13s and £1 2s. '
Spring flack Handicap.—The Seer, 1; Aberration, 2; Pas Seul, 3; Divs., £9 10s and £2 1.
