A Mild Remonstrance.
[to the editor.^
Sir,—As one who was present at the Town Hall on Monday and Tuesday evenings, I would like to draw attention to the annoyance which was caused by a number of persons in the Drill Hall. During Father Hays' address, in particular, the disturbance was very irritating to both speaker and audience. The lecturer's voice is somewhat feeble at best, and for him to have to speak above the din that came from the Dri'.l Ila'l —a prominent feature being a powerful, but not very melodious, accordeon-—must have been as trying to him as it was a source of annoyance to his listeners. Probably, however, it was only thoughtlessness on the par. of those concerned, and now that attention has been drawn to the matter it is to be hoped there will be no ground for similar complaint in future. I am, etc., Nicodeju's.
