PAHIATUA NOTES.

{Special to Daily Times.)

It is still raining, and with the continuous wet weather, together with the cutting up of the roads for water and drainage, the roads are ankie deep in mud. I have never seen them so bad before. On Saturday afternoon a horse and cart got bogged in front of the Presbyterian Church, and had to be dug out. Messrs Prenter and Vile have had an acetylene gas lamp aflixed to the top of the Ranfurly brake, which has proved very useful in going out at night with parties. The Konini Factory of the Ballance Cooperative Dairy Company resumes operations to-day (Monday). The machinery and boilers have been thoroughly overhauled, and all is ready for consumers. At a meeting of the Pahiatua Rifles, held on Friday night, it was decided to rescind a former resolution to obtain a loan for the erection of a Drill Shed, £100 being guaranteed by fifteen residents. It was decided to apply to the Government for £400, and, if granted, to transfer a quarter-acre of land to the King.
