ST PATRICK'S DAY SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

Annual Meeting ,

The annual meeting of members of tlioSt. Patrick's Day Sports Association was held in th'j Technical School on Saturday evening. Mr H. O'Leary (Vice-President) was voted to the chair. There was a large attendance.

The balance-sheet, which was presented and adopted, showed the receipts to be £323 14s 9d, expenditure £294 6s 9J, leaving a profit of about £30 for the year, which, added to the amount carried forward from last year, made a total credit balance of £7!) 15s 4d.

■ The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, Rev. Dean McKenna; President, Mr G. Watson;

Vice-Presidents, Messrs G. Day and F. McCarthy ; Treasurer, Mr M. C. O'Connell; Secretary, Mr P. J. O'Leary; Auditors, Messrs G. Elliott and B. J. Dolan ; Executive Committee, Messrs J. C. McKillop, A. Haughey, B. Chapman, B. J. Dolan, H. O'Leary, F. O'Toole, E. G. Williams, W. A. Hogg, F. Haughey, J. H. Pauling, F. J. Dupre, J. O'Dowd, 0. O'Sullivan, M. Keriiis and J. A. Renall.

The advisability of holding the next sports meeting on a date other than March 17th, owing to this day falling on a Saturday, was discussed at some length. It -was pointed out by several speakers that the. Association was formed with the object of celebrating St. Patrick's Day.—lt was eventually decided to adhere to this day, except when it falls on Sunday.

Mr O'Connell moved, " That Mr J. Creelman be elected a life honorary member of the Association." In doing so, he referred to the great assistance rendered by Mr Creelman as one of the founders of the Association. Mr Dolan seconded the motion, which was unanimously carried. Messrs F. McKay, F. Whitton, Gault, W. Morris, F. Johansen and J. Lodder were elected members, and one resignation was accepted. Votes of thanks to the retiring officers, and to the chair, brought the meeting to a close.
