Meeting of Committee.
A meeting of the general Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held in Lowes and lorns' Farmers' Room, on Saturday afternoon. There were' present: Messrs R. Gray (chairman), W. Cooper, C. H. Smith, E. E. Chamberlain, R. Dagg, W. McKenzie, J. D. Cruickshank, and D. McGregor. Apologies for absence wero received from Messrs I. Sykes, J. Macßae, W. D. Watson, J. Stuckey, and W. Perry.
Mr J. D. Ritchie (Department of Agriculture) notified that arrangements had been made for the Department's shire stallion, " Danger Signal," to stand at Masterton this season. —The letter was received, and the Secretary instructed to reply thanking Mr Ritchie. Three new nicmbcrswcrc elected. FINANCE COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Finance Committee was held in the Secretary's office on Saturday. Present: Messrs G.C Summerell (chairman), F. C Lewis, W. Perry, il. Gray, J. D. Cruickshank. The Secretary submitted the following financial position of the Society to date : —Credit balance August 24th, Md 16s sd; receipts for month, £89 8s 4d ; expenditure for month, -6109 14s 9d ; credit balance at date, £i' 6 ss. Accounts amounting to £l'dl 5s 7d were passed. The Valuation Department notified that the capitation value of the Society's new- grounds was set down at i>7B4. The Chairman was authorised to sign cheques on behalf of the Committee.
The Canvassing Committee were reelected, with the addition of Mr R. Dagg for Masterton, and Mr D. McGregor, junr., for Carterton.
