HIGH COMMISSIONERSHIP OF NEW ZEALAND.
The Sunday Chronicle (London) of 3rd July, has the following regardirg the possibility of Mr Seddon taking the High Coraaiisßionersbip for New Zealand
in London :—One hesitates to dwell on gloomy subjects during "tfiisf pleasant weather, but another Colonial horror is looming on the horizon. It appears that Mr Seddon's precarious health will compel him to give up tho Premiership of New Zealand. Of course, he has our sympathy. But it is proposed to give him a rest by appointing him High Commissioner for New Zealand in London. Thia movement must be promptly checked. We have had Mr Seddon here before, when panting reporters toiled after him in vain. Let it be firmly said that there is not room in this little island for Mr Seddon. We have our Mr Chamberlain ; New Zealand has its Mr Seddon. We do not wish to monopolise all the world's economic leaders. Let the New Zealanders give Mr Seddon and themselves a rest if they like to ; but they must give us a rest too.
" We'd sooner see a fearful war — A British Armageddon, Than face tho ever-wagging jaw Of High Commissioner Seddon."
