Also started—Boldwood, Novice, Monte Carlo, Lancewobd 11., and General Lincoln. General Lincoln lost ground at the start, and Imperialism established a strong lead, with Laricewood 11. nearest. At the six-furlong post Vickery was within six lengths of the leader, with Black Child a similar distance away. The three were almost on terms entering the straight, but Black Child broke, and Vickery just got up, beating Imperialism by a head. Time, 4min 54sec.
