Further Disclosures.

Melbourne, Last Night,
At the Butter Commission sitting to-day, Mr Scarlett, formerly inspector of grain in the Agricultural Department, gave evidence that in 1900 he saw the Government stamp being used to stamp butter-boxes in Barthum and Sons' establishment. Ho saw the same thing in 1901. In both cases it was too early in the morning for the butter expert to visit the premises. The Government stamp had previously mysteriously disappeared. He alleged that he was subsequently dismissed for having reported a man for having robbed the Imperial Government to the extent of He also alleged that he reported to Mr Tavcrner that he had been asked, but had refused, to allow a shipment of fodder without weighing, and said that Mr Taverner had told him he ought to be ashamed of himself, and ordered him Dut of the oilice.
