in the Assembly, the Treasurer (Hon. R. Butler) delivered his Budget speech. The revenue for the past year was .£2,510,000, being an increase of ,C 25,000. The expenditure was £2,548,000. The estimates for the current year's revenue, based on an eight bushel harvest, arc £2.018,<)47, and ■ the expenditure, including £1(59,000 for reducing non-re-current liabilities, £2.58"), 17(5. Ho pro"] poses an additional farthing in the Land Tax. placing Income Tux exemption at £150 permanently. Tho Outlook is promising, but strict economy iv the years to come, with resistance of the temptation to borrow, will be necessary.
