ASHBURTON RAM AND EWE FAIR.

At the annual ram and ewe fair, today, there was an entry of 9000 sheep, mostly halfbred ewes and merinos, and 540 rams. For halfbred sheep there was good demand, up to 20* Id being obtained for one lino. Merino ewes also sold well. Rams were in fine condition. Tho following are the prices realised : —Breeding ewes and crossbrod ewes, 6 and 8-tooth, 11s 8d up to 17s 2d ; 4-tooth do, 17s 6d. Halfbrods, sound mouths, 14s 3d to 16s sd; 4-tooth do., to 205,1 d; 2-tooth do., 16s lid. Merino ewes, good mouths, chiefly from Rangitata Plains and the hill, 4s 6d to 10s.
