STUD STOCK FOR POVERTY BAY.
Heavy Importations.
■ The sheepfarmers of Poverty Bay are keeping up to the mark in the way of importing good stock, and during the last week over 500 rams have been shipped to Gisborne from Hawke's Bay and southern breeders. Per s.s. Fanny and Weka, on Tuesday, 250 rams were landed on account of Ngatapa station, Mr H. Strachan, Kenway Bros., J. C. Field, Kiore Khecpfarming Company, A. DeLautour W. Jobson and Nelson Bros. Per Tarawera, a nice line of 48 English Leicester rams were landed for Mr G. W. Tiffen, and, per s.s. Fanny, a splendid lot of 138 rams, including Lincoln, Southdown, Shropshire Down, Pi*ornney, and Leicesters, were landed for Messrs C. Gray, H. Loisell, Turehaua and Mangataikapua stations. All the above lines were consigned through Messrs Williams and Kettle, Limited.
