CARTERTON NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondent).
The gymnasium movement has taken a start in another way now. No one knows what has become of the agitation of the footballers. Since the Council gave them a site, the alleged donations towards the building, secretary, trustees, and the footballers themselves seem to have all vanished into thin air. Now the employes of Mr King, builder, have formed themselves into a Gymnasium Club, and have secured the Rechabite Hall to practice in. I hope they will go on and prosper. The brick building for the Bank of New Zealand is nearly completed, and is receiving a coat of cement and plaster outside, giving it the appearance of solid stone. It is stated that all the school children are to be vaccinated shortly.
