CASTLEPOINT COUNTY.

The ordinary meeting of the Council was held on Saturday. Present: —Crs Dalziell (in the chair), J. S. Langdon, Ryder, Smith, Speedy, and W. H. Langdon. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read as follows :— The Secretary of the Wellington Harbour Board wrote stating that an election of a member to represent the Wairarapa would be held on tho Bth February, and that tho Council could appoint a delegate. The "Wellington Charitable Aid Board sent a statement of the requirements for Charitable Aid for the paat and coming year. The Clerk was directed to fill in same. Constable Collerton applied for payment of 23s in connection with the funeral expenses of the man Prynn who died in the Te Nui Stables. It was agreed to pay the amount. The Chief Engineer of Roads advised that steps be taken to vest the roads in the Langdale Estate in the Council. Accounts amounting to J2531 3s 8d were passed far payment, and the meeting closed.
