Wool and Skin Sales.

Murray, Roberts and Co. report:— We offered 55 bales wool and23so sheepskins. There was a strong muster of buyers, including several representatives of Australian houses. Bidding for all descriptions of wool and skins was very animated, with an occasional advance in super lots of skins. The wool offering consisted mostly of crutchiaga and inferior lots of crossbred. Prices were as follows: —Wool—Crossbred, fair to medium, 4Jd to s£d per lb; crossbred, coarse, 4Jd to sd; crossbreds, dingy and inferior, 4d to 4^d; lambs, 5d to 5Jd; crutchings, 3jd to 4d; locks and pieces, 2 to 3£d. Skins—Crossbred, fine to super, 5-ijd to 63-d; crossbred, medium, 4fd to ;' crossbred, coarse, 4d to 5d ; hoggets and dead, 3d to 4d. The date of next salo is 17th July. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows: —At our fortnightly sale on Friday we had a-record attendance of buyers, and submitted a catalogue of nearly 3000 skins and 35 bales wool. There was an excellent demand for all skins and wool. Prices were about |d per lb higher than at previous sale. We quote :—Merino, from s|d to 7£d ; halfbred, 6d to 6Jd; fine crossbred, s£d to s|d; coarse crossbred, 4d to 4Jd ; lambs, 3£d to 6d; bare pelts, 3d to Is Id each ; green skins, 2s 6d to 3s lid each. Wool: Good crutchings, 3Jd ; extra clean, 4d; coarse and dirty, 2£d to 2jfd ; fleece from 4£d to sd; pieces, Id to 3d per lb.

Levin and Co. report:—At our usual fortnightly sale we offered 50 bales wool and about 1.70Q skins. There was animated competition, particularly for good crutchings. Fine skins were in good demand, but dead skins were hardly saleable. We quote : —Medium crossbred wool, 4| to 5Jd per lb ; coarse, 4d to 4|d • crutchings, coarse, 3d to 3|d; fine slight, 3Jd to 4d. Skins: Merinos, 6d to 6-|d; half-breds, s|d to 6d ; fine crossbreds, 5d to 5f d; coarse, 4|d to 3d; dead skins, 2£d to 3d. '
