Cycling.
The injuries sustained by the wellknown Australian rider, R. H. Walne, some three months ago, will necessitate his permanent retirement from the racing track. A broken kneecap was the principal injury. One of the largest English manufacturing companies publishes a guaranteed list of the weights of its machines ready for the road and track. The list includes the following:—Light roadster, 25in frame, with free wheel, two rim brakes and mudguards complete, 251b; road racer, 25in frame, 28in wheels, free wheel and two rim brakes, 221b ; racer (fitted for road), 24in frame, 26in wheels, with free wheel and two rim brakes, 211b; racer (fitted for road), 24in frame, 26in wheels, without brakes, 19flb, track racer, 24in frame, 26in wheeles, with wooden rims, lin sprint tyres, 16|lb.
