Wanganui Races

The weather was fine yesterday, and there was a record attenclanco at the races. The results are :—
First Handicap Hurdles.—Waiwcra, 1; Lady Belle, 2 ; Eoyal Conqueror, i>. Divs., £1 17s and £2 9s 6d.
First Hack Hurdles.—Old Gun, 1 ; Romany Lad, 2; Juryman, 8. Divs., £1 18s Cd and 14s.
Wanganui Cup.—Mars, 1; Orloil", 2 ; Heroism, 3. Also started —Advance, Halberdier, Hinetaura, The Shannon, Fakir, and Anchorite. Mars led all the way, and won by half a length. Halberdier was fourth and Advance fifth. Time, 3 mm 2 4-ssec (a record for the Colony). Divs., £12 2s and £1 Ss.
Petre WeUer.—Hard work, 1; Toa, 2 ; St. Lyra, 3. Divs., £4 2s and £1 6s. Wiritoa Hack.—Glencoe, 1; Handsome Rose, 2; Biandra, 3. Divs., £5 los and 19s.
Flying Handicap.—West Guard, 1; Field Battery, 2; Shrapnel, 2. Divs., £2 9s and £2 14s.
