The Championship Meeting.

The shooting yesterday in the Auckland match was phenomenal, and constitutes a record for the colony—probably for Australasia. Out of the total entries 95 were from Rifle Clubs. The men never shot better iv an opening match, nnd Hvi'e (Opnki) tnndo 100. Turner, Wellington. \\;-.s :i li'.l'e behind, putting up 99, while Speck nnd Clung made 98 each. had the honour of making the first possible through veteran T. W. Williams and Howard. At 500 yds f-.m , possibles wcro scored— Clung, Neisjn ; Corporal Jack, Linwood ; Whitley, Kuiapoi, and Davidson, Wa.iou. At 600 yds liic fine quality of the shoot ing was maintained. Anything under 98 was scarcely regarded by the on lookers.
