INFORMATION FOR FARMERS.
Our Special Contributor, in his chapter of Farm Notes, on tho fourth page, today, deals with a variety of subjects of interest to settlers. There is an interesting reference to lucerne, bringing out specific features not previously mentioned. Further information is given in reference to the Angora goat, demonstrating to a satisfactory degree the utility of this kind of stock, at present almost unknown in New Zealand. A practical farmer gives advice on the allimportant subject of each milk-supplier breeding his own cows, and showing how essential it is to test the milk-producing qualities of each animal in his herd. There is a reference to the dread disease anthrax, as it appeared in a suburb of Melbourne ; some hints as to dealing with ragwort, and also to the summer feeding of dairy cows.
