Tho annual excursion to the West Coast Souuds, including en route, a call at Stewart Island, is announced by the Union Steam Ship Company, iu thisissue. This year the trip is to be mdtby the Waikare, a splendidly having luxurious accommodation, and being in every way suitable for so desirable an excursion. Passengers leave Wellington on Thursday, 10th January, in tho Mokoia, and join tho Waikaro at Duucdinon tlio succeeding Saturday. The excursion occupies altogether about two weeks, and the fare ranges from £l4 upwards, according to the class of ac-i' commodation. Fuller particulars will be found in an advertisment in this issue. The attention of farmers, and others is directed to a notification appearing in our advertising columns from Messrs Booth, Macdonald and Co., Christchurch, concerning the "Steel Star" windmills. Theso serviceable articles can bo used for pumping water, cutting chaff, crashing feed, or sawing firewood. Tho firm solicits inquiries, and will be glad to forward all particulars about the" Star" - 1 Windmill, to any inquirer. The windmills are supplied in all sizes, and can be had at a very reasonable price. Mr A, Henderson, watchmaker, Queea street, wishes to return thanks for the substantial support accorded him during the time he has been in Masterton—some fifteen ]Xfi. Mr Henderson has a very fine Assortment of electro-plate ware, clocks,' watches, rings, etc,, and those in search of a goody. Christmas present would do well to call on him and inspect his varied stock of very useful and artistic goods. An extensive assortment of up-to-date patterns of German and American picture frame mouldings, have just been received by Mr G. G. Eddie, of Pragnell's Buildides, Queen-street, Masterton. It will be seen that ample accommodation has been provided at most moderate fares, and that some of the finest oE the Uuion Company's steamers are leaving Wellington each day for lyttelton, Pioton, ana Nelson, , which are the usual places of rosort atythis time of the year. The Union Steam Ship Company also announces its usual Doxing Day excursion to Picton at a special minimum fare.
