g MEETING OP STEWARDS. A meeting of Stewards of the MnvVrlon li,icing Club was held in Mr II C O'Conucll's Club Hotel .ymlci.U aflornoon. Present Messrs A. \v. Cave, (president), in the cliair, W. Wnrdell, F. Hill, J. Maeliao, W. Toms, H. Yqles, M. 0. O'Comiell, J. Ewart, J. lorus, and J. Mncara. The minutes of tho last meeling were read and continued. Mr J. J. Kennedy's rcsigimtion was held over and it was resolved that he be communicated with. It was resolved to appoint Mr W. D. Watson a Steward in plaeo of Mr JI, Williams, who has vacated his seat through absence. Mr J, Marline, at the requestor the Stewards, withdrew his resignation from tho olllco of Steward. On the President's motion the Secretary was authorised lo obtain tho services of a detective for next racemeeting to keep spoilers off tho course. Correspondence with regard to the bona fides of the marc Ethel was roceivcil, and tho matter was held over till two o'clockon Saturday next, Messrs W. A. Donald and Cumly to be asked to attend the meeting and to produce the marc Ethel: also if tho address of tho nominator, Mr J. E. Williamson can be found, he be asked to attend. Mr WardeH thought it premature to go into the matter till someone applied for the stakes. An interim balance sheet was reap read by the Secretary showing the receipts and expenditure over last racemeeting. The total receipts amounted to £114513s 7d, and expenditure £O2O 14s fld. L'eceipts from the totnlisator amounted lo £750 16s 3d the Government tax on the investments being £92 18s 3d. Stakes paid totalled £OSO. The profit on the meeling was shown at £224 18s lOd. Mr Hill thought it time that Stewards and officials were again supplied with lunch. He would move in this direction. —Carried. The Secretary said some person had brokcu a window in the new buildings at the course and had' entered the Ladies' room. He would recommend shutters being put up. On Mr Hill's motion this was agreed to. Tho question of inserting a Bracelet Ilaco in tho Autumn programme was discussed, JlrHill proposed that a fresh race be inserted ou the second day's programme for the March Meeting to be called the Bracelet Handicap of 35sovs; distance, one and a half miles; minimum weight, lOst 71b. The motion was agreed to, _ the Stewards being unanimously of opinion that such an event would he a popular addition to the programme. •
