DISTRICT COURT.
* MASTERTON-WEDNESDAY. (Before His Honor Mr District Judge Kettle) Woods was charged with making an attempt to pick the pocket of one John William Girkan, on the Opaki liacecourse on December Bth. The following jury was empanelled:— 6. W. Sbroder (foreman) William Kob. efts, Jas. Challis, Geo. Townsend, das. Muir, J. Henderson, Wm. F, Keeble, F, Dupris, Arthur Krahagen, John Fuller and John Phelps. Mr A. E. Bunny appeared for tho Crown, and Mr C. A. Pownall for the accused. • The evidence for the Crown waj the same is that given in the Lower Court, , ~-, Mr C. A'Pownall did not call any evidence on behalf of the accused, _ After Counsel had addressed the jury End His Honor had summed up, tho jury brought in a verdict of not guilty.
