MR HASELDEN, S.M.
At the Masterton S.M, Court this morning, Mr W. R; llaselden, the newly-appointed o.M. for tho Wairarapn District, took his scat on the local Bench for the first time. Mr C. A. Pownall, who was the only solicitor present at the opening of the Court said that beforo taking the business he would like—as the first member of the local Bar present, although not I lie senior member—to welcome His Worship, and hoped he would long retain his seat on tho Bench mid continue in the Wairarapa District.
llr Haselden, replying thanked Mr Pownall for his kindly expression and said he hoped the relations between Bench and Bar would always be pleasant.
