—♦ — !Em Our Own Componientl. Greytown, Thursday. Mr Sam Mahupuku is getting everything in readiness for the large and handsome Meeting House to be erected at Papawai. The limber is now being carted on to the proposed site.

Mr Mahupuku also intends eroding a baker's oven at Papawai. He has already engaged a baker. This will mean a considerable saving to tho Natives,

The local school committeo met the other evening to discuss the question of headmaster and assistant to take the place of Mr Flux and Mr McKonzio, who have resigned to take up their new duties in the Empire City,

Mr St. Gcorgo, senr,, is to be coiii gratulatedfor tho energetic move ho has takon iu the formation of a new dairy factory, here,

Captain "Wansbone and Lieutenant Pollock, of your town, gave a musical evening down here last night. Tho encouragement given to the local corps is good, and fresh conversions are made at nearly every meeting held.

Greytown, Friday.

Tho annual meeting of parishioners of St, Luke's Church was held in St. Luke's schoolroom last night. The report for the year was very satisfactory. During theevening several presentations wero made, tho recipients being, Mrs Knoll, who has been organist for the Church for many years and who was presented with a purse of sovereigns by tho parishioners; and Mr Flux who was presented with an illuminated address aud several other useful presents, The meeting took the form of a social and a very enjoyable and pleasant evening was spent.
