It was afinounced in the House of Representatives that of six natives sentenced to death for murders at Nanaki, New Guinea., one died in prison, one sentence was commuted to seven years, and the remainder to fourteen years’ gaol. MELBOURNE, May 6. A loaded motor bus collided with a market gardener’s motor lorry, at a street intersection, near Parliament House. The bus was overturned. Three men and sixteen women were injured, mostly not seriously. The bus had its roof wrenched off, and plate glass windows smashed. The occupants were spilled on the roadway, and the wonder is that the casualties were not more serious.
