A resolution passed by the Public Morals Committee of the ethodist Cbnrch of New Zealand sitting at Wellington, expresses pleasure at the favourable reply of the Minis- | ter of Internal Affairs to a depnI t at ion urging the tightening up gf i the censorship of cinema films and posters. In this the Committee will have the support of picture theatre patrons and of very many of the picture theatre managers. 'Hie class cf picture too frequently seen in which the licentious setting is preoominant is net a draw to patrons, 1 but rather deters many from reguj laitv patronising a form of relaxa- : tier. which could be very much more i popular than it is. Many a parent viewing the portrayal of alleged social life of America is sickened to think that young people whose char acters are in the formative stage ar-* regular visitors to places where such low ideas are pictured. These pictures are not necessary and in New Zealand are not desired by ■ the public er the managers.
