PRINCESS BETTY

HER NATAL DAY. (Per Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, April 21. The utmost simplicity characterised Princess Betty’s first b ; rthday. She awoke to find herself surrounded by scores of toys, with which she played delightedly. In the afernoon, together with Princess Mary’s two sons, she was taken for a drive m an open carriage in Windsor Park.

A big crowd awaited the departure of the carriage from the Castle and when it emerged loud cheers were given for the Princess.

Afterwards there was a quiet family party in the Royal nursery, but no special celebration.

Before starting for Cardiff, the Ivng and Queen saw Princess Betty and wished her many happy returns. The Prince of Wales and Prince George wired congratulations from the Continent.
