Dairy fanners in Canterbury and all dairy factories will be extremely irterested iu a case before the Su prcine Court , which raises the ques tion whether suppliers are entitled co- bonuses as a matter of right, 01 whether bonuses are gratuities given by the dairy companies. Walter Frederick Kerr, farmer of Oxford, has sued the Avon Dairy Co. for £25 6s 10d, a balance he claimed was due to him for butter iat he had supplied to the Company Plaintiff was paid 1/3J during the 1924-25 season, at the end of which he received no bonus. Other factories. he alleged, paid at the rate of i/7A during that season, and there fore he should have received 3d per pound bonus at the end of the -ea-
son. The case was heard by Mr Justic Alpers who reserved judgment.
