MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The committee of the above dub me* in their rooms on the 7th inst. Mr W. F. George was in the Chair, vith a large attendance of members present. The secretary reported that the club had flown five races in ■.he past month, birds meeting diflicult weather conditions wljiicn only enabled them to record ' medium averages. The Girth thanks' the stationmasters of Ashburton, Rolleslon Jun Christchurch and Waipara for thrir k.’iidhcss in acting as liberators, •■ace birds were all got away with cut mistakes which adds to the ’■ i.yment of this very interesting Lobby.
A pen race was flown from Christchurch on the 31st inst, which was won by Mr T. Healey, registering a double win for this young, flier, who is making great strides : h the fancy. Following are the results:—Mr T. Healey’s Mac Imprint, 3hrs 34min, Ist; Mr C. Veitch's Little Hope, 4hrs Imin, 2'; Mr G. Pitts’ Professor, 4hrs 6mm. 3 ; A. Carbis’ Starlight, 4hrs 42mm Waipara Flock, 140 miles airline, —Birds were liberated at 11.6 a.m. by the Stationmaster in a hard ’■or -we.t wind, the winning bird flying the distance in 4hrs 42m ; n with the other placed, birds vero close up.
