(Per Press Association—Copyright. LONDON. December 26. > Following America’s example in connection wnh the 1928 Olympiad, at Amsterdam, Britain is negotiating for a vessel capable of housing her entire team. . . , "tb« United States has practically concluded arrangements lor huge liner acconnncdbtion not only for the team but probably several inillionaries who will help to defray the expenses. Britain and America are leaving nothing to nhanee. Air Evan Hunter, the British Olympic secretary, has returned after a view of th© proposed stadium and athletes’ quarters. He is of the opinion that the Dominions .should begin their arrangements at once. The stadium is not at. present in an advanced stage, though the work is being speeded tin. In ths main it will be smaller than at Colombes, being four laps to the unit, excluding the 200 metres straight. The swimming baths, tennis courts and sports grounds are complete. The Olympic village will be within the stadium, but Mr Hunter is doubtful whether it is advisable to accommodate the Dominion and British athletes in the village. He favours utilising a liner, though the Dominions might prater to train their teams in Britain until near the opening of the games. The Amsterdam hotels are small and unsuitable for large teams. If the Dominions charter a liner the men must live on her from the commencement of the voyage or board her for a definite period from Britain. The Dominions mi-ht charter a liner among them, taking the Australians from Anstrali.i. picking nn the New Zealanders and South Afr : oans en rente, and ross ;, 'lv the Canadians, hut this is a question of finance for the T>cW’’’rio"s The ‘•n.’-rmtivo is f© the TTt©w© Colleges, which will h© vacant Av.-ing the g'mes, and offer admirable facilities, incloding playing fie’ds.
