The New Zealand League footballers gained five tries (one converted) against Pontypridd, two tries (one converted). The game was thrilling and vigorous, the local team showing surprising form. They pressed the attack in the early stages, but Kirwan, obtaining. possession, passed to Menzies who was pulled down just in time. Davidson immediately afterwards scored an excellent try, which Delgrosso converted. The All Blacks were missing few opportunities, but Pontypridd were tackling effectively. Green got across for the home side just before the interval, but Fairfax failed to add the goal. Presuming for the second spell, Delgosso sprinted finely, enabling Mason to score a try, which was not converted. A minute later, Brown got a try, but Mason’s kick went wide. Curtis, dribbling prettily, scored for Pontypridd, Shea converting. Near the call of time, Avery and Davidson added tries to the New Zealand tally, neither being converted. \ The New Zealand team was —Kirwan, Desmond, Cole, Davidson, Delgosso, Brown, Hall, menzies, Parker, Herring, Mason, Thomas, Avery.
