THE SCHOOLS.
HOOK. (Our Own Correspondent). The annual break-up ceremony, together with the sports meeting, in connection with the Hook School, •was held on Tuesday afternoon and -was attended by a large gathering of parents and friends. Mr J. Bitchener, M.P , and Mr W. Seward, chairman of the School Committee, addressed those present. Afternoon tea was handed round tty the ladies, and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. The sports events were very keenly contested and were much enjoyed by all. Mrs Bitchener presented the pupils with their prizes which were awarded as follows: — 5.6. —Pearl Peck 1, Mary Barbour 2, Jack Rathgen 3. Class prizes. Grace Haynes, Cyril Peck. S s.—Jean Barbour 1, Robert Haynes 2, Gilbert Crawford 3. Class prize: Russell Ward. S.4.—Elsa Meyer 1, Leonard Alexander 2, Lucy Croft 3. Class prizes: Alice Meyer, Bella Croft, Carl Meyer, Donald McPherson, Allan Simmons, George Griffen, Bert Griffen. S.3.—James Barbour 1, Owen Green 2, Ethel Marshall 3. Class prizes: Martha Rose, Betty Meyer, Daisy Griffen. Ivan Simmons 5.2. —-James Johnston 1, Leslie Meyer 2, Roy Peck 3. Class prizes: Margaret Green, Arthur Burness. S.l.—Dora Ward 1, Betty Alexander 2. P. 4. — Class Prizes: Molly Meyer, Elorrie Burness, Hazel Peck Wm Croft, Ered Johnston. P.3.—Class prizes: Jean Bell, Milly Hendry, Billy Tiffen, Frank Carter. P.2.—Class Prize: Tommy Garrett. P.l. —Class prizes: Marion Bell, May Harris, Gordon Burness, Lawrie Tiffen, Stanley Harris, Murray Bell, Hunter Bell, Harry Garrett.
