SCHOOL YEAR ENDS.

PRIZE-GIVING AT MORVEN. [OTTB OWN COMESPONDENT] The prize-giving and breaking up ceremony of, the Morven School provided a happy afternoon, not only for the children, but also for the parents who attended. The first part of the proceedings took the form of a short concert, the following items being given: Averil Smyth, pianoforte solo; chorus by senior boys and girls; recitations, F. Clearwater, Ailsa Smyth, and J. Williams; Christmas song by the infants. The chairman of the Committee (Mr Smyth) addressed the children and complimented them on the progress made during the year. He called on Mrs S. J. Bailey to present the prizes. After the prizes were presented afternoon tea was handed round, bringing to a close a most enjoyable afternoon and one that should leave a good impression on the child mind, and which certainly earned the gratitude of the parents.
