LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
(Per Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, December 19. The New Zealand League team's match against Hunslet may conclude the tour, the League thus losing £2OOO. In view of the urgency of the situation. the Council may meet on December 20th, instead of 22nd. The peaghe refutes the insinuations that its decision upholds the malcontents, LONDON, Dec. 20. The “Daily Herald” says the trouble with the New Zealand league footballers may result in the premature termination of the tour, which the Rugby League decided to run until January 10. Mi' John Wilson (secretary) says that Mr Mair asked the shipping company to arrange for return bookings for six players on December 31. Mr \\ ilson td'd the shipping officials that Mr Mair had no authority to place such an order. The council of the Rugby League meets on Wednesday to consider the position. Mr Wilson says he hopes it will not be necessary to cancel the seven fixtures already arranged, and four others in contemplation.
