GLENAVY ATHLETIC SOCIETY.

SECOND ANNUAL SPORTS MEETING. COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMME. The second sports meeting in connection with the Glenavy Athletic Society is to be held on Saturday. December 15 th, and everything points to the meeting being more successful than its forerunner. At a recent meeting of the Society an excellent programme was drawn up which should meet with the entire .appioval of the sporting public. It includes, in addition to the usual flat races, in which there are events -for girls and boys, four cycle races, of which one is district and three open, and a. number of novel events such a- mariied ladies' race, young ladies’ race, and quoits. There are. also piping and dancing competitions. In all, the programme is a first, class one, and with the prize money, that is being given, should draw large' entries. Treasurer Mr D. J. Gibson. This is the second year of the Glenavy Athletic Society, whose patron is Mr J. Bitchener, M.P., and Vice-Presid’em; Mr E. P. Lavery. The Society has an energetic secretary in the person of Mr A. N. Gibson and after the success of this coming meeting, which needs only the support of all sports and public generally to be assured, its future should be most seuccessful.
