THE DAIRY POOL.

REPRESENTATION SETTLED. Wellington, May 19.

On the Dairy Pool Conference resumeding discussion on the South Island representation, Mr Agar said that it had been suggested by some North Island delegates that if the South Island was made to include whole of the Islands, instead of merely Canterbury, Otago Southland and Westland, they would be prepared to concede five seats instead of four to the South. He therefore altered his amendment to meet this view.

The amendment was lost on the voices, and Mr Moss’s motion, giving a representation of North Island eleven and South Island four, was carried.

The election of North Island members of the Provisional Board resulted as follows:—North Auckland, Mr Grounds-, Hokianga; South Auckland, Mr Goodfellow, New Zealand Dairy Co., Mr Wells, Cambridge; Mr Stanton, Kaiketu, Bay of Plenty; Mr M. Millan, Tauranga; Taranaki, Mr Morton, president of the New Zealand Dairy Association; Mr J. Corrigan, Hawera; and Mr Forsyth, Eltham; Hawke’s Bay, Mr Cook, Heretaunga, Wellington; Mr Moss, Carterton; Mr Hanson, Awahuri. Mr William Freeth, director of a North Taranaki Co-operative Dairy Company, informs the “Wellington Post” by telegram that: “That the Dairy Pool delegates were only instructed to formulate a scheme. No authority was given them to them to commit us. Hundreds never had a chance to discuss it. Considerable resentment is felt.”
