(Received after edition goes to >ress). _4 J* V. 3 Charles Campbell Dawkins, 25, a native of Australia, appeared in the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court today to answer ten eha r ges of break ing ,entering, and theft. His counsel pleaded guilty on his behalf, but said be was of a respectable char acter, and had gone to the war at 18 and considerable would be brought to show that there was some con nexion between his war services and his suddn lapse into crime.. He was committed to the Supreme Cou r t, at Wellington for sentence. (Dawkins is statd to be a student of Victoria College, Wellington, and is given a very good characeter by his assoei ates, considerable astonishment be ing expressed at his ar r est.)
