Ref Press Association—Copyright. AY'ELLINGTON, Nov.. Id, A deputation from the AA'ollington Hotel AA'orkers’ Union interviewed the Hon, A. L. Herdman to-day relative to the anti-shouting regula.tion. The speakers represented that eotivietiug ti person twice for the same olfencc was against the canons of British law and justice. They suggested tliat a bar attendant should ho informed ot the offence at the time it.was alleged to he committed so .'is to give him an opportunity of obtaining evidence that might lie valuable. The deputation also asked that the regulations bo considerably modified, so that injustices suffered by the workers might be removed. . . The Minister, in replying, said that legislation of that kind must bo drastic, otherwise it would be void. At a time like this, people had no right to treat regulations and the law with contempt. Magistrates must be satisfied thatthero had been intentional evasions of the law by bar attendants. He would look into the matters referred to by the deputation and if satisfied an injustice had been done, it would be his duty to remove it.
