SCHOOL EXCURSION TO ROSS.

SUCCESSFUL DAY’S OUTING. Large crowds 1 ravelled by the two trains to Ross.yesterday in connection with the school excursion. The author!, tics of the southern township had thrown the school, school'grounds, and public bath open to the visitors, and had plenty of tea ready for the party on their arrival from the station. During the afternoon, fruit and 10l- * lies were distributed to the children, an-.l they were also kept busy with races, aquatic and otherwise. The Municipal Band accompanied Die excursionists and gave a short programme on the grounds during the afternoon. MV. A. W. Peebles and members of the Ross School Committee were veryattentive to the varied wants of the picnicers, and did all they could i make the outing successful. The staff of the Railway Department were also responsible in no small measure for the satisfactory consumation of the chi hirer's day out.
