THE .LAST TRIBUTE. AUCKLAND, June 25. The funeral of Sir Jolm Logan Campbell took place to-day, nearly all the shops in the city being closed during the afternoon. As arranged tlie hotly was laid to rest on the crest on Maungakiekic. Among the many wreaths sent was one from the Governor and Lady Islington. Colonel Campbell, cousin of deceased, was chief mourner and the Hon. James Colvin represented the Government.

The procession was witnessed by thousands, dense crowds gathering at many points. Before the burial service, Canon Mac Murray read a short dedication service as the. grave was not on consecrated ground.

There were IGO vehicles in the procession.
