THE FATHER OF AUCKLAND

Tho Minister,of Internal Affairs has forwarded the following telegram to tho Mayor of Auckland regarding tho death of Sir John Logan Campbell.— “ Please .accept, on behalf of tho citizens of Auckland, my sincere sympathy over the death cf Auckland’s great, patriot and bonfactor. Sir John Logan Campbell. I trust it may as-' snago the general regret to know Unit the Government has, in accordance ■whli tho late Sir John Logan Campbell's wish, and at tho request.of Sir Maurice O’Rourke, chairman of the One Tree Hill Domain Board, decided that his mortal remains shall lie interred in One Tree Hill Domain, andthat special legislation will bo introduced next session to validate this decision.”—G.
