LIBERALISM IN AUSTRALIA.

THE PLATFORM. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT j SYDNEY, June 14. The following planks in the Liberal Party’s election platform are announced:— To promote the settlement of Northern Territory and secure settlers for closer settlement in the districts therein with the right to the freehold; Co-operation of the States with the Imperial Government for a vigorous immigration to establish a white Australia ; To promote Australian defence on the lines of Imperial eo-Operation ; To maintain the present tariff policy ; To establish a Board of Trade for other non-political body, which could make recommendations to its adjustment.

[The following planks of the Party’s platform were announced yesterday:— To aim at the, adjustment of industrial inequalities between States and the fostering of the co-operative spirit; the control of trusts harmful to the public interests, also economy by restricting taxation on the necessities of the Government and the Commonwealth.]
