A brilliant reception was accorded S'- Hcnniker-Iloaton at Guildhall on h:s return from Australia by 500 people, over whom the Lord Mayor presided. while Sir William Hall-Jones, Sir George Reid and other High Commissioners and Agents-General were present. Lord Curzon, in presenting Sir Heu-niker-Heaton with an "Album containing 1,000 signatures of leading public men of the Empire, said that it was a remarkable meeting to honor a remarkable man, who had, by his firm grasp of a great idea and by unwearying tenacity proved himself a benefactor of mankind. Sir Henniker-Heat-°n’s work was one in the interests of international peace, Imperial Unity, an'd Commercial progress.
Sir Hcnniker-Heaton, in thanking those present, refered to the help he received from Mr. Joseph Chamberlain I? the Government would spend what it spent on mail subsidies seventy years ago it could have penny-a-word cables to Great Britains most distant possessions.
Many London and provincial newspapers publish laudatory comments on Sir Henniker Heaton’s services.
